With my slant on things, I visualize the soundscape, with these
rhythms, as a sort of tapestry of “Fourier” components — we might
talk sometime about what I mean by that, if you don’t already know.
(People talk in terms of the soundscape of the natural world, with
niches in it occupied by different species, or different
individuals. ………

Naturally I listened with special appreciation to the “Train” — I
recorded such sounds once on an Amtrak trip — a sound-world of its own!
